Section 01
Why travel insurance matters
Travel insurance protects you against the things a booking platform cannot — sudden illness, injury, lost luggage, missed connections and cancellations for personal reasons. We strongly recommend every Packd traveller has appropriate travel insurance in place from the moment they pay their deposit.
Section 02
Packd is not an insurance provider
Packd Travel Ltd is a travel concierge, not a regulated insurance provider. We don't sell or advise on insurance policies. Please arrange cover directly with a regulated insurer or a regulated insurance intermediary.
Section 03
What to look for in a policy
- Cover for the whole trip window — from deposit through to return.
- Cancellation and curtailment cover with a limit at least equal to the total per-person cost of the trip.
- Emergency medical, hospitalisation and repatriation cover.
- Cover for the activities included on your itinerary (e.g. watersports, nightlife, adventure activities, higher altitudes).
- Baggage, personal effects and travel document cover.
- Cover appropriate to any pre-existing medical conditions — declare these honestly to your insurer.
- Cover valid for every country and territory on your itinerary, including any stopovers.
Section 04
Group policies
Some insurers offer group travel policies that can be more cost effective than individual cover for larger Packd trips. If you'd like an introduction to a regulated broker who can quote a group policy, email hello@getpackd.org.
Section 05
Traveller declaration
By paying a deposit for a Packd trip you confirm that you understand travel insurance is your responsibility. Where a supplier requires proof of insurance (for example certain adventure activities), we may ask you to share your policy details ahead of departure.
Section 06
What to do next
- Arrange cover as soon as you pay your deposit.
- Add your policy number and 24/7 emergency line to your phone before you fly.
- Share a copy of the policy with your Packd trip organiser.
